Better than any I’ve bought in the store.
I had never bought a stack of tortillas before, and I soon found out that it takes a long time to use all of them within a certain amount of time. Besides taco wraps and making naan, why not make tortilla chips? It sounded too simple to do. I just hate that it takes more than 10 minutes. There are many variations on the seasonings for the tortillas. I’ll list some here:
1. Salt, Pepper, Garlic
2. Salt and Lime
3. Parmesan
4. Cinnamon Sugar
5. Salt and Turmeric
6. Herb de Provence
7. Cumin, Oregano, Paprila
I also paired them with a homemade yogurt dipping sauce. I ditched the traditional salsa idea and remembered that yogurt is a sauce that is usually paired with Middle Eastern dishes. When I had both of them together, it was magical. I used the remainder to dip veggies in and I was even more impressed.
I whipped cinnamon and honey into plain vanilla yogurt. This is what the pair looks like:
And this is my tortilla recipe:
8 corn tortillas
2 tsp olive or canola oil
salt and pepper to taste
1. Quarter each tortilla and lay the strips on a baking sheet.
2. Drizzle the oil, salt, and pepper.
3. Bake until crisp.
