Just what you need on autumn nights.
Milk and Honey. The combination is sacred. Literally. It’s found in the Bible. Some say our basic nutritional guidelines (as well as everything else in life) can be traced back to the Bible. There was a dietary trend a few years ago that focused on What Would Jesus Eat? The premise makes sense. Before chemicals and processed foods, basic foods were found in nature and that’s what was eaten. Also, people did walk forever and ever to get somewhere so maintaining a healthy weight wasn’t a problem. But one of the best recipes I found was Milk and Honey. I added cinnamon for a little twist and it turned out beautifully, as with every other time I make it.
WARM MILK with HONEY and CINNAMON
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of honey
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp of powdered cinnamon
1. Warm the milk in a pot and add the cinnamon stick.
2. Keep the heat on low and let the cinnamon steep in the milk for 5 – 10 minutes.
3. While the milk is heating, pour the honey in the cup.
4. When your cinnamon milk is ready, pour the milk in the cup at a height so the milk becomes frothy.
5. Sprinkle the powdered cinnamon on top and enjoy!
